Pancrelipase

Description:

This food grade enzyme system used in National Enzyme Company products is derived from porcine pancreas and exhibits lipase, amylase and protease activities.

Activity:

The activity of pancrealipase includes 100 USP protease units, 100 USP amylase units and 24 USP lipase units per mg. One USP unit of protease will liberate from casein an amount of soluble hydrosylate equivalent to 15nmol of L-tyrosine per minute per the conditions of the assay. One USP unit of amylase will hydrolyze 0.16 µEq of the glycosidic bonds of starch per minute under the conditions of the assay. One USP unit of lipase will liberate 1.0 µEq of free fatty acids from olive oil per minute under the conditions of the assay.

Applications:

Within the health and wellness industry, pancrelipase is used as a digestive aid and has been shown to provide therapeutic action when used in cardiovascular support, joint support, and muscle support formulas and as digestive aids. Within the medical industry, pancrelipase is used to treat pancreatic insufficiency.

Shelf Life:

To maintain optimum enzyme activity, this product should be stored in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed container. When properly stored, this product can be expected to lose less than 10% of its activity in twelve months.
